About the Complete Care Community Programme

Health inequalities are wide and growing, but they are not inevitable

ICSs are partnerships in which local organisations exercise collective leadership

The Complete Care Community Programme (CCCP) combines the NHS and wider policies to address the social and economic causes of poor health and is beginning to make a measurable difference. The first report can be viewed here.

Working towards developing a sense of mutual accountability for resource use and outcomes, in addition to their national accountabilities, ICSs also have the potential to nurture different forms of oversight to drive local improvements in care.

It is helpful that the CCCP already embodies this approach

Utilising support from partners within an ICS, designing bespoke projects by drawing on local indices of multiple deprivation (IMD) data on performance and outcomes, and developing a multi-professional team based approach to delivering care to clearly defined local population groups.

Meetings, conferences and expert views

The National Health Inequality Symposium - Mar 2024

Tackling health inequalities is high on the agenda for health and care services.

Every Integrated Care System (ICS) is required to develop health inequality strategies.

System leaders need a refreshed strategy and transformative thinking to enable diverse and complex local issues to be addressed, but with the ability for success to be adopted and scaled nationally.
